POWER Engineers Awarded Contract to Provide Cityworks Implementation and Integration Services for Clallam PUD

April 01, 2010 -- POWER Engineers, Inc., a global consulting engineering firm specializing in integrated GIS and asset management enterprise solutions, announced today its selection by Clallam County PUD (Clallam) to implement the Cityworks® suite of GIS-based asset maintenance management products to manage their capital assets and infrastructure. Cityworks forms the foundation for achieving a highly automated operational environment. Together with ESRI’s ArcGIS® software and Telvent’s ArcFM® Designer and Responder applications, POWER’s implementation of Cityworks and interface design services will provide a complete work management, asset management and materials management solution.

Steve Schopfer, Clallam County PUD Information Technology Manager, commented: “Clallam chose POWER Engineers to implement Cityworks because their consultants demonstrated a strong understanding of utility operations and how Cityworks could improve our operations for work and asset management activities across multiple departments and in the field. This, coupled with their strong track record of delivering integrated work and asset management solutions, made us very confident that we are taking a high-quality approach to this challenging project.”

Beginning with Phase One, POWER will implement Cityworks to track all service installations, capital system improvements and any other jobs involving the engineering department. Cityworks will be used to track a job from inception to construction completion to financial close-out. POWER will design and develop interfaces between Cityworks and Telvent’s Designer engineering application and between Cityworks and JD Edwards’ financial and warehouse management application. Designer will be used to track the design and as-built stages of a construction project. The interface to JD Edwards will ensure that material usages and other costs are recorded in JD Edwards for capital and maintenance work. DataPump will push service request and work order information out to field laptops. Additionally, an interface to GO! Sync will provide field users access to work order and service request information from their mobile GO! Sync applications.

In Phase Two, the Cityworks system will be extended to other operational work processes at Clallam.
Steve Kerr, POWER’s Project Manager stated, “We are very pleased to support the vision that Clallam has for managing its assets through the best use of GIS and asset management systems and integration strategies. Their careful evaluation of product options and their company-wide commitment to the implementation process have positioned the project for success.”
