The grand prize winner, Tan Teck Wee designed from his heart, creating a model toy that he knew his son would love. He combined his son’s love for trains and airplanes and designed the winning model, a flying toy train. When Tan Teck Wee found out he won the contest, he said, “Wow! I really never expected to win! Honestly, I just wanted to explore another software and took this as a good chance to learn. Thank you!”

The response from the competition was incredible and the participants showed great enthusiasm for not only the challenge, but the software as well. Here are just a few comments from participants:

  • Marin Davide’s first impression of ZW3D was that it was, “Very easy to understand, I was able to make complicated models in just four days, that I would not have been able to make with other software that I’ve been using for years.”
  • Prodromos Lazarou discussed the advantage of ZW3D when comparing his current CAD software and said, “Flexibility of both simple and complicated tasks by options appearing along with the main command. In addition the more flexible approach of different modules for model handling.”
  • “The ease of use is great! Quick to learn for new users!” Rick Crist

All in all, the challenge was declared a success marked by enthusiastic participants some who it was their first chance trying ZW3D CAD/CAM software, as well as generous sponsors, Ponoko and 3D Connexion.
