2014 Reel Video Summit Features Speakers from YouTube and BuzzFeed

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 17, 2014 — ReelSEO today announced that the 2014 Reel Video Summit, which will be held July 24-25 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, will feature speakers from YouTube and BuzzFeed. The ReelSummit is where marketers, storytellers, and retailers gather to get serious about online video.

Bonfire Labs, a Creative Content Agency and one of this year’s event sponsors, created the event promo video entitled, “ The History of Video Marketing Part 1: Revolution.” The sequel, which will be shared with attendees at the opening of the summit and will set the tone for the two day event, is currently under development with Bonfire entitled, “The History of Video Marketing, Part 2: Evolution.”

One of the featured speakers at the 2014 Reel Video Summit is Jon Klaff, a “digital native” marketer who has focused primarily on digital channel programs for the past 17 years. He is currently the Head of Media Solutions, Brand Activation Team at Google/YouTube where he is responsible driving brand strategies for the Top 250 Brands in the US by ad spend. Mr. Klaff works across all sectors and has recently been engaged with such clients as Diageo, Carnival Cruise Lines, Dow Jones, Church & Dwight, Toys R Us and The Weather Channel to name a few.

Prior to joining Google/YouTube in late 2012, Mr. Klaff was the Chief Marketing Officer for Lot18, an online wine and gourmet food marketplace and was a strategic advisor to the North America CMO of Citibank. From 1998 - 2010, he worked at various digital ad agencies, notably Digitas and Razorfish. At Digitas, Mr. Klaff led online customer acquisition and branding efforts for Ameriprise Financial as they were spinning off from American Express. At Razorfish, he ran the Capital One and Citibank accounts as well the NY Retail Group with such notable brands as Polo Ralph Lauren, Gilt Groupe, Staples, DSW and Victoria's Secret.

After four years as an environmental engineer for the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy, Mr. Klaff ventured to the Bay Area to join the fray during the Web 1.0 years in 1998. His notable engagements included supporting the integration efforts of Yahoo! and Broadcast.com, driving marketing communications for pre-IPO Netflix when they had just 500,000 subscribers and leading the Pixar Animation Studios marketing communications and online advertising efforts for Toy Story 2.

Jonathan Perelman, GM of Video & VP Agency Strategy, BuzzFeed

Another one of the featured speakers at the ReelSummit is Jonathan Perelman, GM of Video & VP Agency Strategy at BuzzFeed. He is responsible for business management and branded advertising on BuzzFeed video, as well as leading partnerships with advertising agencies and brands.

Prior to BuzzFeed, Mr. Perelman spent over six years at Google as the Global Lead for Industry Relations. He is a Sr. Fellow at the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School, and serves on many industry boards including Advertising Week (US and Europe), Internet Week and Ad:Tech. Mr. Perelman advises several startups, and is a member of several international foreign policy think tanks. He’s also an investor in early stage tech and media companies as part of NextGen Angels NYC.
