Everspin Expands MRAM Ecosystem with Xilinx FPGAs

Everspin establishes DDR3 and DDR4 compatibility with its Spin Torque MRAM and Xilinx’s UltraScale FPGA DRAM memory controller

CHANDLER, Ariz. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 8, 2017 — Everspin Technologies, Inc., as the leading provider of MRAM solutions, today announced compatibility for its Spin Torque MRAM memory and Xilinx’s UltraScale™ FPGAs. Everspin is providing its customers a software script that modifies the existing Xilinx Memory Interface Generator (MIG) DDR3 DRAM controller to make it compatible with its 256 Megabit DDR3 ST-MRAM memory that is available now and will do the same for the 1 Gigabit DDR4 ST-MRAM by June of this year.

“We’ve had many customers ask for Xilinx support so they can create new solutions from the leader in FPGAs and the leader in MRAM,” said Everspin’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Patrick Patla. “Everspin’s growing ecosystem now supports Xilinx FPGAs, which are used broadly in storage systems. “

“The compatibility of Xilinx’s MIG with Everspin’s ST-MRAM will provide systems developers the capability to implement a high speed, persistent memory system in their custom solutions,” said Manish Muthal, Vice President of Data Center at Xilinx. “We are pleased to be working with the pioneer in MRAM to bring advanced persistent memory capability to modern data center storage and computing applications.”
