InTime Expands Executive Team, Raises Follow-On Funding

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 25, 2002--InTime Software, Inc., the emerging leader in silicon virtual prototype (SVP) tools for complex IC design, today announced that Ron Burns has joined the company as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. The company also announced that it has raised additional funding from current investors. SVP is one of the fastest growing EDA segments, and focuses on early vision into ultimate chip performance and manufacturability.

Burns joins InTime with an extensive track record in the electronics and electronic design automation (EDA) industries. His experience includes sales management positions at Quickturn (Cadence), NeoCAD, Mentor Graphics, Silicon Compiler Systems, and Harris Semiconductor. Burns' Quickturn business unit grew more than 200% under his direction, generating more than $29 million in sales. Most recently he was Vice President of Sales at Forte, where he and the CynApps executive team successfully completed the merger with Chronology to launch next generation C-based synthesis and verification technology.

"Ron's understanding of EDA and semiconductor technology combined with his passion to solve customers' problems make him a great sales executive," commented Paul Lippe, InTime CEO. "I am delighted that Ron is on our team as we partner with the world's leading systems and semiconductor companies to bring the new silicon virtual prototype methodology to reality."

"I joined InTime because it represents the biggest opportunity I have seen in EDA in a decade. RTL timing closure is the number one problem facing our industry. Leading edge design teams want to move to the silicon virtual prototype, and InTime is the company that will get them there," said Burns.

Burns holds a BSEE from the University of South Florida and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

"The design of integrated circuits has become incredibly complex with the increase of incorporated intellectual property, the rapid shrinking of geometries, and the overall size in terms of gate count," said Bill Unger, partner emeritus at Mayfield Fund and an individual investor in this round of financing. "InTime addresses the capacity, design planning management and performance issues that challenge leading-edge ASIC and SoC design, making it a highly attractive EDA investment opportunity."

Unger joined Earlybird, Novus and WaldenVC in this latest round of follow-on funding.

About InTime

InTime Software develops EDA solutions that give IC designers powerful design planning control, enabling early timing closure for complex ASIC, SoC, and ASSP designs. The products provide early insight into timing, area and layout at the pre-RTL, RTL and gate levels, preventing problems from surfacing further downstream where they are more time consuming and costly to fix. InTime products use industry standard input and output formats, and improve the design flow into third party synthesis and physical design systems. InTime is headquartered at 10131 Bubb Road, Cupertino, CA, 95014. The company has sales and support offices in Silicon Valley, Austin and Boston. InTime products are distributed in Japan through Innotech Corp., in Taiwan through Maojet, and in Korea through I&C Technologies.
