MUNICH, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 2003--Internet World
Germany and Mobile World, trade shows produced by Penton Media GmbH, a
subsidiary of Penton Media, Inc. (NYSE:
PME) will move from Berlin this
year and be held in conjunction with SYSTEMS, which takes place
October 20-24, 2003, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
SYSTEMS is considered one of the top five business-to-business
exhibitions for the information technology and telecommunications
industries in the world. The 2003 event will be the 22nd annual run of
the show. Business attendance at SYSTEMS 2002 was more than 70,000.
The event is owned and produced by Munich Trade Fairs International.
"Internet World and Mobile World exhibitors will benefit
enormously from the move to SYSTEMS in Munich, and particularly from
SYSTEMS' huge, highly qualified attendee base," said Thomas Koch,
managing director of Penton Media GmbH. "It makes great sense to
co-locate with SYSTEMS, whose primary themes are entirely
complementary with the e-business, ISP/ASP, online marketing, and
mobile solutions themes of Internet World and Mobile World."
Klaus Dittrich, managing director of Munich International Trade
Fairs, said, "Bringing Internet World and Mobile World together with
our event makes SYSTEMS more appealing because the e-business sector
reinforces the traditional SYSTEMS exhibitor base. Today, almost every
IT/telecom solution imaginable includes Internet features, and more
and more mobile solutions are being incorporated into existing IT
infrastructures. That is why it makes sense to combine these areas of
expertise and give exhibitors a more attractive platform."
SYSTEMS is focused on four business themes: software, systems and
integration; telecommunications and networking; office and peripheral
technology; and IT applications for government, healthcare and the
finance and insurance sectors.
According to Koch, "This partnership between one of Germany's
exhibition powerhouses -- SYSTEMS -- and Germany's leading business
Internet events from Penton - offers a fantastic proposition for
visitors, too, with Internet World and Mobile World delivering new,
exciting and innovative content to the industry-leading SYSTEMS event.
We are delighted to be in such fine company".
