Hexagon Geospatial and Airbus Defense and Space Sign Content Agreement for Hexagon Smart M.App (R)

NORCROSS, GA--(Marketwired - May 03, 2016) - Hexagon Geospatial and Airbus Defense and Space have signed an agreement for a content-sharing program that will enable Hexagon Smart M.App® developers and end-users to access and benefit from Airbus' Earth Observation data. Content provided by Airbus Defense and Space is now available through the Smart M.App platform, including new and archived very-high and high resolution optical satellite imagery from Pléiades (50cm products) and SPOT (1.5m) satellites.

"The Hexagon Smart M.App revolutionizes the industry by combining sophisticated business analytics with a connection to data that transforms the map from a static picture into a dynamic information experience that models not just what is, but what can be and what should be," said Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon Geospatial. "Our new partnership with Airbus Defense and Space provides our partners with fresh, enhanced imagery that they can quickly connect to their Smart M.Apps, quickly generating an updated snapshot which supports faster and more effective decision-making."

This partnership equips developers with a steady stream of reliable and rich data to plug in to their Smart M.App cloud applications, driving the dynamic information experience. End-users will now have easy access to fresh geospatial information coupled with business intelligence to monitor and understand change in their areas of interest.

"Hexagon Geospatial has created new opportunities for developers to build and deliver game-changing applications to customers," said Greg Buckman, Head of Airbus Defense and Space's Intelligence Business activities in North America. "We are excited to see how our data, integrated within these applications, can help organizations make sound business decisions."

In the future, Airbus Defense and Space would like to make powerful radar data from the TerraSAR-X satellites and a range of digital elevation models available for Hexagon Geospatial smart applications as well.
