University of Glasgow Purchases 200 Licenses of SolidWorks

CONCORD, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 7, 2008— University of Glasgow mechanical engineering students will soon hone their 3D CAD skills designing everything from race cars to bridges using SolidWorks® Education Edition software as they prepare for professional careers.

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. It has more than 20,000 graduate and undergraduate students focusing on a range of disciplines. It was the first university in the U.K. to hire a professor of engineering, and therefore the first to create a focused engineering department. After evaluating leading CAD packages, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the university standardized on 200 licenses of SolidWorks software. The department, in conjunction with the Glasgow School of Art, will begin teaching SolidWorks 3D CAD and SolidWorks Simulation design validation software in the Product Design Engineering degree program next autumn.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree programs that impose a wide and challenging range of demands on the 3D CAD software used by the students, said Dr. Graham Green, senior lecturer in engineering design, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Glasgow. An additional challenge is provided by the needs of students taking our joint course in Product Design Engineering, taught in conjunction with the Glasgow School of Art. Only one piece of software fully met the challenge: SolidWorks.

SolidWorks Education Edition will give University of Glasgow graduate and undergraduate students a hands-on product development experience that exposes them to concept innovation through design to prototyping and testing. The department will use SolidWorks Education Editions pre-packaged coursework, curriculum and student certification platform to support everything from lesson planning to assessment.

Though steeped in tradition, the University of Glasgow has a progressive approach to incorporating cutting-edge tools in its curricula, said Marie Planchard, director of worldwide education markets at SolidWorks Corporation. Teaching SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation effectively gives students an advantage when applying for engineering jobs.

The University of Glasgow relies on authorized SolidWorks reseller TMS CADCentre for ongoing software training, implementation, and support.

You are right, to develop more skills we need more knowledge and tools. I also take online classes to develop new skills. I had VPN which I purchased using KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Redeem Code 2021 , You can also try this and increase the privacy when you are online.

I already know from experience that it's very hard to find good and relevant ways and methods concerning trading nowadays. I, for example, searched long enough. Luckily my friends helped me and gave me some details about it. For example, now it is easy and simple to turn to professionals for help and here https://safetrading.today/traders/binance-signals/ to look at the details and read them. I really hope this will be helpful.

I would like to congratulate the university on the acquisition of these licenses! SolidWorks is a CAD software package for automating the work of an industrial enterprise at the stages of design and technological preparation of production. Provides the development of products of any degree of complexity and purpose. Therefore, first of all, the licenses that you purchased will be useful to students of a technical orientation. I also recommend that your students who use these licenses watch tutorials on this software on YouTube, in which reputable designers show you step by step how to use this software. I managed to find about fifty such guides there and I noticed that almost all of them had 47 thousand views! I'm sure this is because their authors used the services of https://soclikes.com/ in order to wind up views.
