SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 22, 2010 — JDA Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS) today announced that Silicon Image, Inc. has selected Planning On Demand, a solution developed by i2 Technologies, Inc., to drive integrated demand and supply planning across its global supply chain. Silicon Image, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based leading provider of semiconductor and intellectual property products for the secure distribution, presentation and storage of high-definition content, selected the i2 solution in the fourth quarter of 2009. JDA completed its acquisition of i2 on January 28, 2010.
Planning On Demand, a sophisticated demand and supply planning software-as-a-service offering, enables companies to increase forecast accuracy and customer delivery performance, while optimizing investments in inventory. Planning On Demand for fabless companies combines extensive semiconductor domain expertise with proven applications that drive leading semiconductor supply chains worldwide.
“After a comprehensive evaluation, we determined that Planning On Demand was best suited to support our operational and business objectives,” said Amy Gaffney, director of operations and business systems at Silicon Image. “The ability to deploy this solution quickly using a hosted model made Planning On Demand even more attractive from our perspective.”
Since the software is hosted by JDA, the production system is already mobilized for deployment at the start of the project. The non-intrusive, structured eight-week implementation cycle enables customers to reap returns on their investment much faster than traditional software deployments.
“We are very pleased to partner with Silicon Image to deliver bottom-line supply chain value through our Planning On Demand solution,” said Kelly Thomas, JDA senior vice president, manufacturing. “This new software-as-a-service solution features easy-to-use, best-practice workflows and rapid deployment, coupled with an overall lower cost of ownership for our customers. We are eager to bring this innovative solution to a broad range of customers going forward.”
