As you know, one of important issues of SoC design is the processing core; i.e., which core, how to deal with core IP dealer, how to deal with fab service provider and more and more. Beside these non technical issues, engineers or architectures have to set up HW/SW co-design environment.
Dynalith Systems (www.dynalith.com) recently announced a complete HW/SW co-development environment, which consists of OpenIDEA for SW development and iNSPIRE-LIte for HW development. This environment provides ISS-based HW/SW co-simulation environment and FPGA-based prototyping environment as well.
The HW/SW co-development environment is utilizing OpenRISC from OpenCores and this means that no extra cost to get 32-bit processing core.
If you are interested in this environment, why don't you have a look at http://www.dynalith.com/document/Dynalith_OpenRISC_20061129.pdf.
