Probably the best book I've read this year. It is hard to imagine the hardship the Soviet people had to suffer under Stalin's rule. Set in 1953 it tells the story of a MGB agent who secretly has to investigate a case of mass child murder, as in the Soviet Union crime does not exist. Do suggest otherwise is enough to get you sent to a Gulag or shot.

Just finished "You Let Me In" by Camilla Bruce and "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom (Volume 5)" by Satoru Yamaguchi.

Evil (or amoral) faires of yore and a very not happy family, you might like "You Let Me In".
It is not a horror novel or an adventure. More of a tale of sadness and mystery.

The Catcher in the Rye - J. D. Salinger. I liked this book very much. I needed to read it to write an essay on it. In the end, of course, I had to buy an essay https://writingcheap.com/english-paper.html because I didn't have time at all, but I really liked the book.
